This was Main Street Bluffton in 1966. The photo is from the 1967 Bluffton High School yearbook. 

The photo was taken in front of what today is Chase, looking north. The most noticable change is on the west side of Main where Citizens National Bank is today.

Laura Strahan correctly spelled “abstruse,” an adjective meaning difficult to understand. And in spelling correctly this obscure – by definition – word, she won the 2013-14 Bluffton Middle School spelling bee.

The eighth grader now represents the school in the Allen County spelling bee held in January.

This week's McDonald's Girls' Holiday Tournament at Bluffton High School has a new twist this year.

"Arlington's football will play Saturday night, Nov. 23. Because of that we have decided to move the Holiday Tournament to Saturday afternoon," said Alex Hannah, BHS athletic director.

The consolation game will begin at noon and the championship game will begin 20 minutes after the consolation game's award ceremony. An attachment at the bottom of this story shows the brackets.

Friday's games remain in the evening.

Activate Allen County is seeking community input on Allen County’s first Active Transportation Plan. 

The plan will be the first in Allen County to take into account the need to encourage increased physical activity when developing long-term transportation plans by making walking, bicycling and transit the easy, safe, attractive and convenient choice for everyday trips. 

Attention Hunger Games fans.

Shannon Theatre will have a midnight premier of "Hunger Games - Catching Fire" (PG13) at midnight, Thursday, Nov. 21 (Friday morning).

Following the premier, show times are every evening at 7 and 9:30 p.m. with Saturday and Sunday matinees at 1:30 and 4 p.m.

The theatre will be open for  normal evening hours on Thanksgiving Day.
