Donations can be dropped off to BFR (215 Snider Road in Bluffton) during all building hours.

Friday, Feb. 14, is the last day for donations to the Used Shoe Drive underway at BFR Sports & Fitness.  Used shoes of any type, size and condition are welcome.  All donations will be sent to micro-enterprise operations across the world where items are cleaned and repaired for resale or dismantled for recycling.

BFR Sports and Fitness' Keeping Active program is at the halfway mark this week. Community members of all ages are invited to take part in a variety of free programs including free fitness classes, free days of walking inside the BFR facility, nutritional information sessions, and family events.

The Girl Scout Cookie Program is the largest girl-led business in the world, which teaches girls five essential life skills: goal setting, decision making, money management, business ethics, and people skills.

To celebrate such a monumental program, this year Girl Scouts has named Feb. 7−8 National Girl Scout Cookie Weekend.

Roni Luckenbill, Girl Scouts of Western Ohio CEO states, “We’re excited to celebrate National Girl Scout Cookie Weekend and share with the community the benefits of Girl Scout Cookie Program, which teaches five essential life skills.”

Bluffton McDonald’s manager, Luke Franz, has been recognized nationally and is receiving the Outstanding General Manager Award.

The McDonald’s Outstanding General Manager Award is an annual national honor given to managers that have exhibited superior results in selected areas of performance, including quality, service, sales, cleanliness and operational excellence. The award recognizes up to 10 percent of top restaurant managers across the United States.

Friday/Saturday Dinner Features at Mustard Seed Cafe

Mustard Seed Café, 562 N. Main Street, Bluffton, is open 5:00-8:00 p.m. on Friday and Saturday evenings with a full menu which includes 7 appetizers, 8 main course items, soups, salads and house-baked desserts.   The 12-ounce choice strip steak is hand-cut when ordered and cooked to order.   Beer and beer cocktails are available.  The new Belgium Ranger IPA and Anderson Valley IPA pair well with the weekend feature.
