The Bluffton University baseball team split a crucial conference doubleheader with Transylvania on Saturday, April 20. Errors were the story in game one when the Beavers fell 5-1, but they rebounded with some clutch hitting in game two to win 6-4 while staying in the race for the HCAC tournament.
The Bluffton University softball team discovered that it had in fact packed bats for the trip to Hanover when the Beavers came out and scored eight times during the first two innings of game two on Saturday, April 20, 2013.
After an 8-0 six-inning shellacking at the hands of the Panthers in game one, Bluffton recovered from its two-hit, five-error performance with a 10-2 victory for a crucial series split. Bluffton's win assured the Beavers of their seventh straight Heartland Conference tournament appearance under Coach Bruder.
Bluffton University’s Institute for Learning in Retirement, an educational program for retirees, will host a tea, lunch and a wedding-dress style show on Wednesday, May 22, in The Commons in Marbeck Center.

Glenn M. Blosser, 87, of Bluffton died at 1:30 a.m., April 22, 2013 at the Mennonite Memorial Home, Bluffton. He was born Oct. 26, 1925, in New Stark to Paul and Grace Hostetler Blosser. On March 19, 1955, he married Mary Rich and she survives.
The Westhuizen Piano Duo will conclude The First Presbyterian Church, 33rd Artist Series season. The performance is at 2 p.m. on Sunday, April 28, in the sanctuary at the First Presbyterian Church, 2330 South Main St., Findlay. The concert is free and open to the public; a free-will offering will be received.
On Thursday, April 25, Bette’s Polka Band will be playing at the Bluffton Senior Center. The dance is free and open to the public.
Bette is known for her polkas and square dances as well as fox trots and waltzes. The dance is from 5:30 p.m. to 8 p.m. with the doors opening at 4 p.m.
"Members of the Senior Center love to show new comers how to dance and everyone is welcome. The dance is sponsored by the Hilty Home of Pandora," Tonya Meyer told The News.
