The next meeting of the Bluffton Lions Club will take place Tuesday, Jan. 8, at 12 p.m. at Maple Crest.
This lunchtime meeting will feature Lion Dr. Bob Goulding as the guest speaker. Dr. Goulding, a Toledo optomitrist, long-time Lion involved with Ohio Lions Eye Research Foundation, and civil war history buff will speak on “Johnson’s Island civil war prison”.

New Year serenaders are invited to meet at 5 p.m. on Dec. 31 at Mennonite Memorial Home 410 W. Elm St., Bluffton, according to Dick Jordan. The event is an annual tradition encouraged by the Swiss Community Historical Society.
Warmup for singers at 4:45 p.m. for those desiring it. Following serenading at MMH, singers will go to Maple Crest at 6:30 p.m. where they will sing at Maple Crest's new year's eve party.
