Bluffton's Relay for Life will hold the first meeting for the 2013 season. The meeting combines committee and teams and takes place from 6 to 7 p.m., Thursday, Oct. 4, in the third floor of the town hall, according to Adam Blevins.

He said, "We have some exciting things to begin talking about and hope to see you there.  We'll also introduce you to Jesse Purcell who will be your new staff partner for the 2013 Relay For Life. Snacks will be provided."

The Swiss Community Historical Society will host a fund-raiser hog roast after the Fall Festival on Saturday, Sept. 29, at the Schumacher Homestead, 8350 Bixel Road. 

Tickets may be purchased at the Homestead during the Festival, or in advance at The Black Lab on Main Street in Bluffton.

The Jazzercise October special is join for $59. According to J'aime Stratton, owner, "We'll be doing a set of theme classes over the next month on Mondays. Theme classes are open to anyone to come for a free class and dress up like the theme. The best theme outfit wins a prize.

The Bluffton University women's soccer team snapped a string of six straight setbacks with a 2-1 victory at Oberlin College on Tuesday, Sept. 25, under the lights. Aimee Whitmer's (Grand Rapids/Otsego) first score of the season came just four minutes after Oberlin knotted the contest early in period two and the Beaver defense made it hold up as Bluffton moved to 2-6. The home team stayed winless at 0-8-1.

The Smart Heart and Easy Breathers support groups have now combined to form the new Blanchard Valley Hospital Beating and Breathing as One support group. Beating and Breathing as One (B&B) will provide education and support regarding cardiac and pulmonary topics.

All meetings of the B&B support group will be held in the Marathon Auditorium at Blanchard Valley Hospital and are open to the public. Upcoming events include:
