A Leaving a Love Legacy Workshop with Beth A. Boehr, is planned from 6:30 to 7:45 p.m., Tuesday, July 31, at 119 Vine St., Bluffton.
"Life teaches us to expect the unexpected. Are you prepared to leave Love Legacy for your family if something should happen to you?" asks Boehr.
Persons attending the workshop will learn how to organize important paperwork and documents to they may be easily located in case of an emergency.

Richland Manor will hold an ice cream social open to the public at 2 p.m., Tuesday, July 31, according to Barry Schneck. Richland Manor is located at 7400 Swaney Road, Bluffton.

The deadline for Bluffton Public Library's second annual amateur photo contest is drawing near, but there's still time to enter. Sponsored by Greg's Pharmacy, the contest will award more than $600 in prizes.
This year's special feature is a $50 cash prize awarded for the best night scene in addition to two new youth categories, courtesy of the Friends of the Library. First, second and third place prizes will be awarded for all age categories (adult, high school and youth).

This is a six-part series preview of the upcoming 2012 NFL season. Each part will be broken down by division for each conference, followed by a two-part series on playoff predictions.
Each team is broken down one-by-one under three categories: A team's coach and his staff, a team's quarterback and the weapons around him, and a team's defense. These are the three main ingredients to determining a team's success in the season.

You'd think school is about ready to begin. Action by the Bluffton school board, meeting on July 16, involved offering contracts for several positions.
These included supplemental contracts, extended service contracts, substitute teacher contracts, substitute educational aide contracts and substitute custodial contracts. All for the 2012-13 school year, which begins nearly one month from now.
In addition, the board acted upon 2012-13 appropriations, which total $13, 234,587.
