Mozart, Elgar, Schubert and others in March 15 concert
Maple Crest hosted a concert featuring three of its talented musician-residents on March 15. Larry Burkhalter, playing the violin, was accompanied by pianists Joanne Niswander and Jean Szabo. Burkholder's daughter, Karol Crosbie, served as the Emcee for the evening.
Burkholder, a university music professor, symphony conductor and long-recognized violinist, was pleased to discover that Niswander and Szabo, also experienced musicians, were willing to work with him on several complex pieces.
Thus it was that the Bluffton community was treated to a concert that included everything from W.A. Mozart’s “Adagio,” to Edward Elgar’s “Andante from Concerto for Violin, Op 61,” to Francois Schubert’s “L’abielle,” and more.
