RICHMOND, Ind. - The Bluffton University volleyball team followed up its Heartland Conference opening win over Transylvania with a sweep at Earlham College on Wednesday, Oct. 1. A balanced effort by the Beaver spikers as well as 12 service aces powered Bluffton to its second Heartland Conference victory in five days. Juniors Jenny Brown (St. Marys/Memorial) and Kendra Parmenter (Grove City) both rammed home eight kills to pace the Bluffton offense. Brown finished with no errors on 15 attacks for a blistering .533 hitting percentage. Sophomores Lauren Weisgarber (Bolivar/Tuscarawas Valley), who was in on four blocks, and MacKenzie McFarlin chipped in with six and five kills, respectively.
Junior setter Sara Roth (Findlay/Van Buren) dished out 29 assists, while freshman Sydney Mohler (Lima/Central Catholic) picked up a match-high 11 digs. Roth and sophomore Bailey Dangler (Kalida) fired three aces apiece in the Wednesday night rout. Freshman Erin Helms (Arlington) added a pair of aces as well. Senior Ashley Litwiller (Hopedale, Ill./Olympia) stuffed the Quakers with three block assists.
