Thomas Charles Richard, 1949-2015
Thomas Charles Richard, 65, died August 20, 2015 from complications stemming from esophogeal and brain cancer. He was born September 11, 1949 in Bluffton to Vernon (Bill) and Azetta (Ann) Richard.
He is survived by his wife, Cathy (Kirchner) Richard of Elida; two sons, Benjamin (Renae) Richard of Surry, VA and Nathan (Amanda) Richard of Lima; nine grandchildren, Noah, Luke, Ethan, Cadence, Sarah, Caleb, Ava, Isaac, and Naomi; his sister, Kay (Darrell) Huber of Bluffton; mother-in-law, Ruth Kirchner, of Lima; and two sisters-in-law, Vicki (Larry) Thomas, of Greenfield, IN and Becky Kirchner of Lima; He resided in Elida with his wife Cathy.
He graduated from Bath High School in 1967. He received a degree in mechanical engineering from Penta Technical College and attended Miami University. He served two tours in the United States Marine Corps Reserve. He was employed by Rhoda Bros., Proctor & Gamble, and John P. Timmerman. He was a lifetime member of the National Trappers Association, National Rifle Association, The Ohio State Trappers Association, and a member of Grace Community Church.
A memorial service will be held on Saturday, Sept. 19 at Grace Community Church from 6-8 p.m. Memorial donations may be made to Grace Community Church to the attention of the Missions Committee, 4359 Allentown Rd. Elida, OH 45807.
