Bluffton library staff, board and volunteers grateful for levy support

Dear editor:

On Tuesday, March 15, 2016, voters in the Bluffton school district approved a tax levy renewal for Bluffton Public Library. The levy passed with an unofficial 73-percent of voters supporting library functions.

“Words cannot express our gratitude to the Bluffton School District voters.”

With this continued community support, the library will be able to maintain regular hours and staffing, as well as programming and services for a variety of ages and situations. These services are not limited to the over 40,000 library materials (including books, films, audiobooks, etc.), 80 research databases, or access provided to nearly 240,000 e-materials. Also included are activities for children of all ages, teenagers, and adults, technology assistance, outreach deliveries, public computer access, free WiFi, inter-library loan, the local history room and archives, and much more. The library is a center for learning, advocacy, and community involvement.

“The Bluffton village boasts a community that supports education and the arts, diversity, and fairness. We are proud to share in that tradition and in your stories.”

The library’s new slogan puts it simply, “Our library, our community.”

“Together, we are Bluffton Public Library.”

The Bluffton Public Library staff, Board of Trustees, Friends of the Library, and volunteers wish to express their deep gratitude to the community, and invite everyone to utilize the resources and support the library is able to continue offering.
