Men's Soccer drops 2-1 decision at Anderson

ANDERSON, Ind. - The Bluffton University men's soccer team knotted the match early in period two before Anderson responded in minute 69 for a slim 2-1 victory on Wednesday, Oct. 18, 2017. Bluffton stands 1-13 overall and 1-5 in the HCAC, while AU improved to 9-6-1 and 4-2 in the conference.
Freshman Patrick Spillman (Anderson, Ind./Frankton) knocked in his first collegiate goal in front of his hometown fans in Anderson, Ind., pulling Bluffton even at 1-1 in minute 57. The home team answered back just over 10 minutes later for the 2-1 victory.
Anderson finished with an 18-5 advantage in shots, including 12-3 on frame. The Ravens forced six more corner kicks (10-4) while being whistled for two more fouls (11-9).
Freshman keeper Levi Smith (Bluffton) piled up 10 saves for the visitors.
The Bluffton men return home for a 3:30 p.m. meeting with Rose-Hulman on Saturday, Oct. 21. Come out and support your Beavers!
