First National Bank threw a party for itself … and gave presents to two of its special guests.
The party, recognizing its 100th anniversary in community banking, took place in each of the Pandora-based bank branches, including Bluffton.
Celebrating at the Bluffton branch on Friday, the bank gave a $500 donation to each of two Bluffton non-profit organizations: Bluffton Child Development Center and Weekday Release Program, also known at weekday Christian education.
Francine Donathan, BCDC director, said that the gift will go toward the Center’s current drive for new playground equipment.
Representing the Center with the director were board members Dr. Elizabeth Hostetler and Richard McGarrity.
Weekday Christian Education, approaching its own 100th anniversary, was represented by board members Gary Bishop, Jill Lemley and teacher, Sharon Basinger. The gift will be used for supplies for teachers.
Todd Mason, First National president and chief executive officer, shared several stories with all who attended the event. He also introduced staff members of the Bluffton branch.
The bank also celebrated its 100th anniversary at its branch in Ottawa, Findlay and home office in Pandora.
