James E. Johnson worked for Ford Motor Company
James E. Johnson, 80, of Lakeview, passed away at 11:20 p.m. on Wednesday, January 3, 2024, at Lakeland Good Sheperd Hospice, in Lakeland, Florida. He was born June 6, 1943, in Bluffton Ohio, to the late Ruth Hartman.
On February 7, 1970, he married Carol Cory, who died in 1992. Survivors include one son: Todd (Leah Gladwell) Johnson of Pandora and two siblings: Charles (Hop) Hartman of Findlay, Deb (Robert) McCoy of Pandora. Two grandsons, Drew and Ryan Johnson of Pandora and long-time girlfriend Margaret Palte of Lakeview.
James graduated from Arlington High School in 1961 and he retired from Ford Motor Company in Lima, Ohio. He enjoyed retirement by spending his winter months in Florida, playing golf, and watching his grandsons play sports. He was also an avid Ohio State Buckeyes fan. James was a long-time member of Indian Lake Eagles, Moose Lodge, Elks Lodge and Amvets.
The burial will be at Maple Grove Cemetery in Bluffton Ohio. A Celebration of Life will be held on March 3 at the Indian Lake Eagles from 4:00-6:00 p.m.
