Bluffton Artist Series continues with pianist Filjak
Tickets remain available for the next performance in the 2010-11 Bluffton University Artist Series, by pianist Martina Filjak at 7:30 p.m. Thursday, March 3, in Yoder Recital Hall.
Filjak, who debuted in her native Croatia at age 12, was the first-prize winner among 122 contestants at the 58th International Viotti Piano Competition in November 2007.
She then took the top prize at the 54th Maria Canals International Piano Competition in Barcelona in May 2008 and at the 2009 Cleveland International Piano Competition. Also in 2009, she was honored by the Croatian president for her artistic achievements and made her New York recital debut at Carnegie Hall.
Her repertoire includes more than 30 piano concertos and a wide spectrum of chamber music.
