The Bluffton University men's basketball team hosted OSU-Lima on Friday, December 17. The Beavers started out strong, doubling up on Barons in the first half 60-29. Bluffton continued to dominate in the second half, pulling away for a 118-57 victory which just missed the school record of 120 set against Giffin in 1960-61. The Beavers jumped to 6-3 overall, while the Barons fell to 7-6.
Bluffton's final weekend before Christmas seems as full of activities as the previous two December weekends.

A local man was sentenced in the Allen County Common Pleas Court following a conviction for domestic violence.
Christopher C. Smallwood, 34, originally pled not guilty to an indictment of domestic violence, which is a fourth degree felony. A prior conviction for domestic violence elevated this crime to a felony.
Bluffton police are reporting the conviction of two men from Kentucky who traveled to Bluffton in February to engage in sexual conduct with a minor.
Because the men traveled across state lines, and were apprehended in Kentucky, federal charges were brought against them in connection with their crimes. The case was resolved in the United States District Court, Eastern District of Kentucky, to avoid putting the local victim through additional stress.

Bluffton Public Library will be closed Thursday, Dec. 23, Friday, Dec. 24, and Saturday, Dec. 25, in observance of the Christmas holiday. After Christmas, regular library hours will resume on Monday, Dec. 27, at 9:30 a.m.
The library will also be closed on Friday, Dec. 31, and Saturday, Jan. 1, for the New Year's holiday. Following the New Year's holiday, the library will reopen on Monday, Jan. 3, at 9:30 a.m.
