It's an all-new band season coming your way soon at Harmon Field most Friday nights this fall.
The Bluffton High School band is in summer band camp rehearsals this week. According to Dave Sycks, band director, the band will perform an informal marching band show for parents and the public on the Harmon Field practice field at 6 p.m., Friday, Aug. 20.
"We will be performing our first show, hopefully some of our second show and pre-game, said Sycks.
At 6:30 p.m. the band will depart for the Allen County Fair band show.
Senior Citizens breakfasts for the 2010-11 school year are set, according to Greg Denecker, Bluffton schools superintendent. Each month's breakfast is free for area seniors.
Each breakfast starts at 8:30 a.m. and is held in the middle school cafetorium. During each breakfast a Bluffton school group performs for seasons. The monthly breakfasts are also listed in The Ion calendar.
Bluffton Public Library will host a discussion of John Steinbeck's book The Grapes of Wrath at Common Grounds Coffeehouse & Caf'e on Wednesday, Sept. 8, at 10 a.m. Copies of the book are available at the library.
A classic film screening will also take place at the library on Wednesday, Sept. 15, at 11:30 a.m. Participants may bring their own brown bag lunch to the screening. Both the book discussion and the film screening are being held in conjunction with the library's 75th anniversary.

Janet M. Wilson, 73, of rural Benton Ridge died at 3:15 a.m. on Friday, Aug. 13, 2010, at her residence. She was born on Sept. 12,
1936, to Clair and Golda (Young) Schoonover in Benton Ridge. She married David Wilson on Nov. 29, 1968, and he survives.
Mrs. Wilson is also survived by a daughter, Shari L. Schoonover of Benton Ridge; brother, Robert E. (Mary Lou) Schoonover of Benton Ridge; brother-in-law, and Cliff Peterson of Benton Ridge. She was preceded in death by her sister, Doris Peterson.

Three routes have been marked, one for families (20 mile), weekend bikers (50 miles), and seasoned riders (100 mile route). Join others August 21st as they follow the Ottawa River through the Limas Parks and countryside.
The 20-mile ride takes you around the Lima park system and is designed for families to enjoy riding together as well as seeing the parks.
Bluffton police report the indictment by an Allen County Grand Jury of a Bluffton man for multiple counts of unlawful sexual conduct with a minor.
The Allen County Grand Jury handed up a Bill of Indictment for Armando Vasquez, 37, of Bluffton. The 11-count indictment alleges that Vasquez engaged in a pattern of behavior over a period of several years and engaged in multiple sexual acts over the time span.
