ARE IN TWO ATTACHMENTS BELOW.

The three-day annual Lincoln Highway Buy-Way across America yard sale began in Ada on Thursday morning amid sunny skies.

A tent along Main Street in the Railroad Park will be manned during the sale by the Ada chamber and C.I.C. members, the local sponsoring organizations.

In addition to handing out the maps, people visiting the tent can also find Ada sesquicentennial books and yardsticks.

A Back-to-School Carnival will be held on Sunday, Aug. 14, from 2 to 4 p.m. at the playground of Trinity Lutheran School, 105 Allen St., Jenera. 

The event is open to the public and includes games, relay races, prizes and snacks as students get back into the swing of the school year.  

The popular local band, Brother Believe Me, will perform at the Party on the Back 40 at the year's Farmers and Merchants Picnic in Ada. The local band will perform from 8 p.m. until midnight on Saturday. There is $3 cover charge.

Look for a large, white tent on the north east corner of War Memorial Park for the entertainment site. The band plays rain or shine.

Band members include Brian Carpenter of Lima, drums and vocal (former manager of Bluffton Arby's), Jason Wheeler of the Allen East community, guitar, Chris Brokamp, bass, and Jon Drake, vocals.

Area high school students are invited to a “Fallout” event from 4:30 to 8:30 p.m., Saturday, Sept. 3, at 4080 E. Hook-Waltz Road, Elida, according to Jeremy Basinger, Bluffton High School Campus Life director.

“The event includes food, orb ball, zombie hayride, airsoft, 150-foot slip and slide, outdoor movie, and much more,” said Basinger.

FROM THE ADA ICON - The 103rd annual Ada Farmers’ and Merchants’ Picnic takes place Friday and Saturday, Aug. 12 and 13, in the War Memorial Park.
