Denny Dorrel, Bluffton University football coach, and his staff are hosting a fred football clinic on Friday, July 29, for students entering grades K-8 in the fall.

Coach Dorrel is eagerly anticipating his third season at the helm of Bluffton's football team. In an effort to bring his love of football to the area's youth, Coach Dorrel, along with his staff and team, will be directing the clinic, 6-8:30 p.m., Friday, July 29, on the campus of Bluffton University.

Tickets are available for the 2016-17 Artist Series at Bluffton University. The season features five performances including a reed quintet, an international piano trio, a jazz composer, a Celtic duo and a one-act play. The Thursday performances begin at 7:30 p.m. in Bluffton University’s Yoder Recital Hall.

Akropolis, a reed quintet that incorporates adventure and innovation into each performance, will start the season on Sept. 22. Founded in 2009, the group has earned various musical and educational awards while creating a style of their own.

Bluffton University Faculty Athletic Representative Dr. Darryl Nester has been selected as a 2016 NCAA Division III FAR Fellow and will attend the FAR Fellows Institute.

Nester has been a mathematics professor at Bluffton for the past 24 years and the school’s Faculty Athletic Representative for the past four years.

The FAR Fellows Institute was launched in 2010 and aims to increase the effectiveness of Division III FARs at campus, conference and national levels.

Bluffton University's 2016 Ultimate Frisbee reunion offers a chance for university alumni to show off their skills of the game.

This year's reunion contest is from 3 to 6 p.m., Saturday, July 9, in the Musselman Library green, also known as the Ultimate Field.

There is not charge of the family-friendly tournament for alumni and current students. Bystanders are invited to bring friends, family and lawn chairs to watch the games.

The Bluffton University Board of Trustees appointed one new board member and thanked two outgoing board members for their years of dedicated service during the trustees’ spring meeting.

Tom Reichenbach ’58 was thanked for 11 years of service as a trustee and as a member of the Advancement Committee, Martha Augsburger Showalter ’72 was recognized for 12 years of service as a trustee and as a member of the Academic Affairs Committee and Charles Stapleton ’78 was appointed to the board beginning in July.

Bluffton University is bringing back golf as an intercollegiate sport during the 2017-18 academic year. The Bluffton Golf Club will serve as the men's and women's home course. Bluffton previously had a golf program until the end of the 2003-04 academic year.
