Playing at home, the Bluffton High School volleyball team staved off a Defiance Ayersville rally to win a five-set non-league match Thursday evening, September 1.
The Pirates improved to 4-2 with the 25-22, 25-20, 16-25, 22-25, 15-10 victory. Ayersville fell to 2-4 with the defeat.
Kendall Stackhouse hammered a season-high 15 kills to pace the Pirates. Sophomore Ayla Grandey knocked down 14 kills, while Morgan Fruchey
added nine kills and 13 digs.
