Continuing its theme of featuring local business persons, Sam Diller will relate 50 years of practicing law during the 7:30 a.m. Friday, Dec. 10, Bluffton Area Chamber of Commerce breakfast in the town hall community room.
Eariler this fall, Diller was honored by the Ohio State Bar Association for his 50 years as a lawyer in Ohio.
On Friday at Trinity Lutheran School, Jenera, a special activity centered around the book "Charlotte's Web" was conducted.
Students in grades one through four enjoyed some "fun on the farm" activities with Mrs. Zerby and Dustin Frey, a student from Bowling Green State University.
Frey brought in live pigs for the students to observe. As a fun activity for the students to go along with the school service project, students had a "Kissing the Pig Contest."
Rex W. "Bill" Ferrall, 85 of Bluffton died Dec. 3, 2010 at Mennonite Memorial Home, Bluffton. He was born Oct. 19, 1925, in Benton Ridge, Ohio to August H. and Lulu Bell (Swihart) Ferrall. On Aug. 28, 1949 he married Nettie Basinger and she survives.
Mr. Ferral had been a salesman at A to Z Meats, Bluffton, Lima Packing Company and Wonderbread. He was also a farmer. He was a member of Emmanuel United Church of Christ, Bluffton, and a member of the American Legion Post # 382, Bluffton.
A funeral service for Bradley E. Beilharz, 51, of Bluffton, who died Dec. 2, 2010, will be held at 10:30 a.m., Tuesday, Dec. 7, at the Gateway Church, Findlay. Pastor Ben Borsay will officiate.
Mr. Beilharz was born March 15, 1959, in Wauseon to Ken and Mary Riggs Beilharz who survive in Van Buren. On May 31, 1980, he married Mary Ohler and she survives.
The Bluffton and Lima MS Support Groups will hold a Christmas celebration at 6:30 p.m., Tuesday, Dec. 7, at Ebenezer Mennonite Church, 8905 Bluffton-Columbus Grove Road.
An activity for the evening is Wisdom from Dr. Gideon Food. A white elephant gift exchange is also planned.

Bradley Beilharz, rural Bluffton, was killed in a collision with a semi in Putnam County Thursday evening, Dec. 2. According to the State Highway Patrol, the 51-year-old Bradley Beilharz died when he pulled into the path of a tractor-trailer after stopping at the intersection of U.S. 224 and Road 5, east of Ottawa. He was trapped in his vehicle and was pronounced dead at the scene after emergency crews were able to remove him.
The Village of Bluffton is offering 2011 swimming pool season passes at a a reduced rate (same rate as 2010) now through Dec. 31. The passes make great Christmas presents.

Trinity Lutheran School has been doing a community service learning project. The students are collecting new books to be distributed to needy families in Hancock County.
An activity centered around the book "Charlotte's Web" is being conducted with the students in grades 1-4 with Mrs. Zerby and Mr. Dustin Frey, a grad-student from BGSU.
Dr. Jackie Frisch has seen her share of what she readily calls miracles in her nearly 19 years of married life.
She and her husband Aaron had three sons after being told that they couldn't conceive due to her major medical issues. After adopting nine more children under various, improbable circumstances, Jackie's health worsened five years ago, at age 39, and she was told both in 2006 and 2007 that she had a short time to live.
