It turns out that Ropp Triplett is campaigning - not running for public office - simply campaigning.
To his way of thinking Bluffton doesn't have a "downtown," it has an "uptown." His initial campaign speech on the merits of an uptown versus a downtown were given at the June 8 chamber breakfast.
After the rousing applause he received, it appears that popular sentiment is now in his camp.

P. Arthur Arnold, 94, of Monroe Township, died at Richland Manor Nursing Home, Bluffton, at 11:10 p.m June 12, 2012. He was born Oct. 28, 1917 to Roy and Lilly Yant Arnold in Richland Township, Allen County. On Nov. 23, 1936 he married Erma Miller, who died Dec. 3 2009, they were married 73 years.
Mr. Arnold was a member of Pleasant View Church of the Brethren where he served as trustee, various other committees in the church and he was a deacon. Belonged to Men's Fellowship, and R.F.T.M Sunday School class.
