The Bluffton University women headed to Richmond on Wednesday, Jan. 23, for an HCAC matchup with the Earlham College Quakers, looking for their fourth conference victory in five games. However, Emily Sells’ 17 points and six rebounds helped send the visiting Beavers home with a 71-59 loss.
Maple Crest Senior Living Village will host a soup cook-off from 4:30 to 6:30 p.m., Friday, Feb. 1, and the public is invited, according to Daren Lee of Maple Crest.

You can't have a Super Bowl without Ada, Ohio. But you already know that. The 2013 Super Bowl footballs, made at the Wilson football factory in Ada, are already created and shipped – and there are lots of them.
According to officials at the Ada Wilson factory, 54 balls were shipped to the Baltimore Ravens and 54 to the San Francisco 49ers. Those will be used for pre-Super Bowl practice.
The Bluffton High School cheerleading program will present a first grade through sixth grade Junior Cheerleader Clinic and halftime performance in February, according to Hannah Slechter, coach.
"Participants will attend a cheer clinic on Wednesday, Feb. 13. There they will be taught chants and a dance to perform Friday, Feb. 15, during a BHS varsity boys' basketball game," Slechter told The Icon.
Drive Time Driving Instruction, with offices in Bluffton, has a $20 off special for classes taken in February.Classes begin monthly in Findlay, Bluffton and Ada.
Bluffton clases are held at Diamond Manufacturing, 505 E. Jefferson St. The next session begins Feb. 3.

Northwest Physical Therapy, an Ottawa-based health service agency with several Bluffton connections, will celebrate 20 years in business this year. Northwest Physical Therapy was founded in February of 1993 by Brian and Wanda Dean, both physical therapists.
The agency is also a member of the Bluffton Area Chamber of Comerce.
A local service agency invites adults to consider volunteering in a program that assists victims of crimes. The next training class will begin March 12. An orientation to be held Tuesday, Jan. 29.
Amy Wiechart-Bayliff, volunteer coordinator of CASA of Allen and Putnam Counties, explained how the program works at the Jan. 11 Bluffton Area Chamber of Commerce breakfast.
