Bluffton P.T.O.'s annual "Bakery Bingo" event is Saturday, Jan. 26, from 6-8 p.m. in the middle school cafetorium.
"There will be lots of family fun, including Bingo games for a chance to win delicious baked goods," Allison Mittendorf of the PTO, told The Icon.
"Additionally, there will be a 50/50 raffle and basket raffles thanks to the generosity of local businesses and parent donations. Food concessions will also be available.
The Bluffton University men's basketball team rolled off its third straight Heartland Conference victory of over 20 points with a convincing 92-61 shellacking of Manchester University on Wednesday, Jan. 16, 2013.
The Beavers improved to 7-9 overall and 3-6 in the Heartland Conference, while Manchester dropped to 4-12 and 1-8 in the HCAC.

Volunteers have played a vital role at Mennonite Home Communities of Ohio (MHCO) since Mennonite Memorial Home first opened in Bluffton in 1955. The importance of those volunteers is appreciated daily, and especially on National Day of Service, which is Saturday, Jan. 19.
In 2012 MHCO had over 250 volunteers who provided more than 7,176 hours of volunteer service between Mennonite Memorial Home, Maple Crest and Willow Ridge, according to Mary Ann Ring, director of volunteer services.
Bluffton native Kay (Rodabaugh) Parent, 64 of Kettering, Ohio, died at her home, Jan. 14, 2013.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Dr. Franklin and Lois Rodabaugh and a sister, Rosanne Dolan. She graduated from Bluffton High School in 1966 and from Bluffton College in 1970.

The event attracts students from nearly 20 colleges in northwest Ohio and southeast Michigan. Bluffton University and Ohio Northern University participate in this project.

Catherine “Cathy” A. Cripe, 70, died at 2:24 p.m. Jan. 16, 2013 at St. Rita’s Medical Center, Lima. She was born July 26, 1942, in Bluffton, Ohio, to the late Arthur and Cleota (Lanning) Lewis.
Cathy retired as a retail manager at “Welcome Home” in Houston, Texas. She was a member of St. John’s United Church of Christ, Bluffton. She enjoyed the "60’s Girls’ Group" and was a member of the Bluffton Senior Citizens where she enjoyed playing cards. She resided in Bluffton for the last 10 years with her sister, Mary.
Ann Stratton will offer antique appraisals during a community antique show from 1 to 4 p.m., Wednesday, Jan. 23, at Richland Manor, Swaney Road, Bluffton.
Food and beverages will be served and the event is open to the public.
