April 2013

Bluffton University will offer six summer mathematics workshops—five of them new this year—for teachers of elementary through high school students.

The 25th annual workshops, hosted by adjunct faculty member Duane Bollenbacher, are all three-day sessions, from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. each day. Each workshop may be taken for 22.5 contact hours of Local Professional Development Committee credit, at a cost of $125, or, on a pass/fail basis, for one semester hour of graduate workshop credit, for $275. Lunches are included; other meals and housing are available.

The Bluffton Lions Club and Bluffton Arby’s work together on Monday, May 6, and Tuesday May 7, from 4 to 7 p.m. to support the Lions’ Scholarship Fund.

Twenty percent of all sales will be donated by Arby’s of Bluffton to the Bluffton Lions’ Club Scholarship Fund during that time period.

Donations will help fund two scholarships from graduating seniors in the Bluffton, Pandora-Gilboa and Cory-Rawson school districts. Members from the Lions club will be present to bus tables and thank the patrons for their support.

This vote will be to RENEW the existing ½ % Income Tax for Permanent Improvements.
It is NOT a new tax, but will simply continue what is presently paid by Bluffton citizens to support the schools that belong to them and to their children and Grandchildren.

Because of this extra income for the school system, my grandchildren in elementary school can attend classes in comfort thanks to the new air conditioning systems put in place for the Kindergarten through 4th grades
