Marcia J. Forbes, 75, died July 9, 2013, at her residence in Bluffton.  She was born March 4, 1936, in Ashley, Ind., to the late Russell and Kathren (Bartels) Wiler. On Aug. 10, 1957, she married Arthur "A.J." Forbes and he died June 4, 2008.

Mrs. Forbes had been a bookkeeper for Lincoln Life and Klink Trucking.  She was a member of the Ashley-Hudson Church of the Nazarene. She was a 1956 graduate of Ashley High School.

The churches of Pandora and Gilboa are offering food boxes for households in the Pandora-Gilboa School District. 

The boxes are designed to provide nine meals for a family of four. In order to pick up a box, you must register by calling 419-384-3038 by 5 p.m. on Monday, July 22. 

Boxes will be available to be picked up on Saturday, July 27, at 11 a.m. at the Grace Mennonite Church located at 502 East Main Street, Pandora.

Bluffton will be swimming knee-deep in visitors on Friday and Saturday – 2,000+ visitors!

The Bluffton Community Swimming Pool is host to the league meet of the Western Ohio Aquatic League (WOAL). Bluffton officials putting on the meet anticipate between 500 and 600 swimmers (between the ages of 4 and 18). Add parents and fans and there will be 2000-plus visitors in town.

U.S. Navy Ensign Ryan W. Benroth, son of Melvin and Jacqui Benroth of Columbus Grove, graduated from the United States Naval Academy in Annapolis, Md., on May 24 and was commissioned as an Officer in the U.S. Navy. 

ENS Benroth successfully completed four years of academic, physical, and professional training, resulting in a Bachelor of Science degree with a major in Mechanical Engineering, with a focus on energy and propulsion.

BFR Sports and Fitness will host a Challenger British Soccer Camp July 29 to Aug. 2, according to Carole Enneking, director.

This international soccer program combines a strong emphasis on fundamental foot skills with an upbeat, positive camp environment. Challenger Camps are staffed by soccer players/coaches from the United Kingdom. 

Campers (ages 4-16) may choose between morning and evening sessions (or combine both sessions for a full day experience). 

Street painting in Bluffton - this time by the Allen County Enginineer's Office takes place next week, according to Jamie Mehaffie, village administrator.

Mehaffie will update Bluffton council on Monday evening on the Engineer's Office plan to perform the double-yellow striping on village roads, weather permitting.

The village service department will also preparing to complete its annual street striping. The village handes cross walks, parking spots and stop bars.
