Emmanuel United Church of Christ's fall festivities day is Saturday, Oct. 21, at the church, 8375 Phillips Road, Bluffton. The event is from 4 to 6 p.m.
The event includes truck or treat, activities and crafts. Persons are invited to come dressed for Halloween. The event is open to the public.
Bluffton Family Recreation will hold a Bubba C Barbecue from noon to 2 p.m., Sunday, Oct. 22, at BFR, 215 Snider Road. It's during BFR's Halloween party.
Tickets are $8 and include either a pulled pork sandwich or one-quarter chicken, macaroni and cheese and green beans. Meals are for carry-out or eat-in at BFR.

Village of Bluffton voters will choose four of 10 candidates on the Nov. 7 ballot. Those elected have four-year terms beginning Jan. 1, 2018. Four incumbents are Sean Burrell, Ralph Miller, Phill Talavania and Roger Warren.
Also seeking seats are Jerry Cupples, Tony Pinks, Mitch Kingsley, David Steiner Benjamin Stahl and Deborah Weihrauch.
