The Village of Bluffton seeks candidates for the position of assistant village administrator, according to Richard Johnson, mayor.
A classified advertisement is posted on the Icon's classified ad page announcing the opening.
Currently the village does not have an assistant administrator. Jesse Blackburn held that post until he was hired in May to replace Jack Huber, who held the position for not quite 12 months.
Blackburn was the assistant for several years, serving with Jamie Mehaffie and later with Huber.
Bluffton Presbyterian Church invites the communit to an outdoor worship service Sunday, July 15, at 9 a.m. on the front lawn of the church, located at 112 N. Main St.
The service will feature a liturgical dance and a jazz trio. Attendees are encouraged to bring lawn chairs. In case of rain, the service will be moved indoors, according to Rev. Karol Farris, pastor.

Our American Legion Post 0382 in Bluffton, Ohio, exists to support fellow veterans, their families, and our community.
In the last nine years we have donated an average of $7,000 to local community and veteran organizations. This is from our annual golf scramble.
Our donation this year is over $8,000. Basically, we see all levels of involvement from our members.
Some attend all our functions while others pick and choose their involvement because of commitments to other activities or personal family responsibilities.

The pool was on the east side of the Buckeye. It is included a bath house, baby pool, larger pool going to 6 feet, and the Buckeye quarry for persons who could pass a swim test. The Buckeye had three diving boards.
Ohio Northern University's HealthWise program return to the Bluffton Public Library for a Mobile Health Clinic Wednesday, July 11, from 9:30 to 11:30 a.m. Meet the Mobile Health vehicle in the library’s rear parking lot.
This clinic offers free screenings for blood pressure, blood glucose, and lipids (please fast for 12 hours prior to your arrival if you wish to participate in the lipids screening) as well as a bone density screening for osteoporosis.
Niki Sidle, MSW, LISW-S, will present “Dying with Dignity: An Ethical and Holistic Approach,” at Mennonite Memorial Home, Bluffton, on Thursday, July 19, from 9 a.m.-12 p.m. The presentation is approved for 3 social work contact hours in ethics. Pre-registration is required.
William Gaines III, 70 of Bluffton died July 8, 2018, in Grove City. Arrangements are incomplete at Chiles-Laman Funeral and Cremation Services, Bluffton.

Construction projects in the Village of Bluffton reached over $12 million during the first half of 2018, according to building permits cost estimated filed with the village.
That compared to $2.4 million on construction project during the same period in 2017.
A $10 million Grob Systems new building construction this spring was the significant difference between the two periods. Without it, the 2018 permits total fell behind 2017 by $407,296.
