According to the Icon's count, 93 teddy bears participated in this project. Additional stuffed animals joined the fun including owls, llamas and even a beaver.

Closing early goes against ODE advice

Bluffton schools will not conclude the 2019-20 school year early, according to Greg Denecker, superintendent.

In a letter to parents and students posted on the school website, Denecker writes that some schools are ending the school year early, but not Bluffton.

He states that decisions such as these (ending the school year early) are directly against what the Ohio Department of Education has advised schools to do with their academic calendars.

"I think this is something that Ohioans rightfully expect from their government leaders," says Ohio secretary of state

The way Bluffton votes may be different in November than in previous general elections.

Ohio Secretary of State, Frank LaRose, said today that Ohio needs to take the application process for mail-in ballots online, agree to pay postage on return applications and ballots and make other voting-law changes in order to assure a smooth presidential election in November.

LaRose’s proposed changes would:

• Allow online requests for a vote-by-mail ballot, rather than requiring a form to be printed off from the internet or requested by phone;

What is a DO?

When you go to see your doctor you may notice some letters following their name, but have you ever wondered what they mean? Physicians in the United States receive one of two degrees upon completion of medical school, either an MD or a DO. So, what is the difference?

Most people are familiar with a MD or Medical Doctor, but would you be surprised to know that nearly 1 in 4 current medical students is working toward their DO rather than an MD.
