U.S. 30 westbound between Interstate 75/State Route 696 and State Route 65 will be closing today, Wednesday, Dec. 23, for several days for emergency work on the Slabtown Road overpass.  

On Tuesday evening, Dec. 22, Slabtown Rd. over U.S. 30 was closed due to a bridge strike. The closure of U.S. 30 westbound is to prepare for the removal of the damaged beam and bridge deck as soon as possible.

Pirates travel to Kenton on Monday

FINDLAY - Liberty-Benton outscored the visiting Bluffton girls basketball team by 25 points in the second half to pull away and post a lopsided 59-25 non-league victory Tuesday night.

The Lady Pirates trailed 21-12 at halftime, but L-B went on a tear after intermission where they outscored Bluffton 38-13.

Eagle 5-11 freshman Lauren Gerken poured in a game-high 29 points to pace the victors. She scored 12 points in the fourth period, and netted all nine of L-B's markers in the first stanza.

Hilty Home vaccines administered tomorrow

This article was updated with a clarification since it was posted.
Multiple residents of Mennonite Memorial Home and staff at MMH received their first doses of a covid-19 vaccine today (Dec. 22), according to Jason Cox.

Vaccines will be administered at Hilty Home, Pandora, on Dec. 23, and at Willow Ridge on Dec. 29, according to Cox.

Cox told the Icon that pharmacists from the CVS Pharmacy located in Breese Road, Lima, were on the MMH campus today giving the shots.
