The Bluffton Senior Citizens Center, 132 N Main St, has issued its October 2021 calendar and Golden Age News. The full document is attached below and the October calendar follows.
Announcements include that Peanut Brittle making will start Monday, November 1. The center needs 30 people to make the candy and is looking for new volunteers.
The center’s Annual Christmas Garage Sale will take place on Friday, November 12 and Saturday, November 13. Donations of clean, usable Christmas items should be brought to the Senior Center by Thursday, November 11.
Ebenezer Mennonite Church will host a free event with Dr. Dan Bellamy from Inflatable Stories. The announcement invites Icon viewers to “'Experience blown up stories that share life's biggest truths! Fun for the whole family!”
The church will host two presentations:
October 2 - 6:30 p.m.
October 3 - 9:00 a.m.

The Pandora United Methodist Church will be hosting a FREE Community Meal on Wednesday, Sept. 29 from 5:00- 6:30 p.m. at the church , 108 E. Washington Street, Pandora.
The meal is sponsored by Ted’s Market. The menu is: Beef sandwich, au gratin potatoes, green beans, cookie and drink. Guests may dine in or carry out.
Darla J. Endsley, 85, passed away September 21, 2021 at the Mercy Health-Putnam County Ambulatory Care Center in Glandorf. Darla was born July 18, 1936 in Ohio to the late John Carl and Ruth (Gangle) Phillips.
Darla graduated from Pandora-Gilboa High School and retired from Sylvania-Phillips Corporation in Ottawa. She was a member of the Parents without Partners where she was a past officer.
The next informal gathering of car enthusiasts known as Bluffton Cars & Coffee takes place on September 25 at 902 N Main St.
This month organizers will pay tribute to Mark Boutwell, who passed away on September 15: “He wasn't just family, he was a dear friend and regular attendee at Bluffton Cars & Coffee.” In honor of Mark, donations will be accepted for Honor Flight.
Twisted Whisk will offer coffee, donuts, and more. Door prizes from local businesses will be awarded.
Wilmington College took set one handily (25-19) before the Bluffton University volleyball team turned the tide in a 3-1 win over the Quakers on Wednesday, Sept. 22. One night removed from a battle with the University of Findlay, Bluffton recovered from a sluggish start, improving to 7-9 with its fourth win in the past six matches.
The visitors needed extra time but the result was worth the wait as Bluffton won the final three sets (27-25, 26-24, 25-16) after hitting the road for the second time in as many days.
Visiting Bluffton swept scrappy but short-handed rival Ada in a Northwest Conference volleyball match Tuesday evening, September 21, to record their seventh consecutive win.
Pirate senior setter Skyler Scoles recorded her 2,000th career assist early in game two, and got a nice ovation from the crowd during a brief stoppage of play.
The Lady Pirates improved to 9-2 and 2-0 in league play with the convincing 25-16, 25-12, 25-12 victory.
