The Bluffton University women's soccer team battled St. Mary's tooth and nail for 90 minutes but came up just short in a 2-1 loss to the Belles on a rainy Monday, Sept. 20, 2021. The Beavers dipped to 2-4 on the season, while SMC improved to 6-1 overall.
St. Mary's standout Rose Stackhouse came into Bluffton with six goals in six games, but on Monday afternoon she switched roles and became the tablesetter. The senior connected with Julian Bowen twice in the opening stanza as the visitors opened up a 2-0 lead at the break.

The Bluffton University women's golf team turned it on over their final nine holes on Sunday, moving back up into 3rd place at the Beaver Fall Classic. The Beavers shot a 355 (tied for 4th best all-time), giving Bluffton a 713 for the tournament which is tied for 2nd all-time for 36 holes.
Haley Gill (Indianapolis, IN/Franklin Central) got it done down the stretch, firing a school-record 80 on Sunday, which added up to a 4th place finish individually. Gill's 169 for the weekend also equaled her own record for 36 holes!

Tied at 605 after 36 holes thanks to three birdies on the final hole, Bluffton notched four pars on the first hole of the playoff to take down local-power Ohio Northern in the 2021 Beaver Fall Classic.

Oscar Velasquez, 77, renowned artist passed away in Akron, Ohio on September 10, 2021 surrounded by immediate family. He was born on April 5, 1944 to Cresencio and Vicenta Velasquez in Pharr, Texas. He married Pam Szymkowski December 1972, who still survives.
