Are you always running to the restroom? Do you plan your daily activities around knowing where bathrooms are located? Do you struggle with leakage of urine? If so, you may have overactive bladder (OAB).
St. Patrick's Day (March 17, 2022) traditions include parades, wearing green and--for some--overindulging with alcohol. The Lima-Allen County Safe Community Coalition reminds all occupants of the road to use safe driving practices. The Ohio State Highway Patrol as well as the Allen County Sheriff’s Office will have extra officers on patrol March 12 and 19. Their message: "Don’t Press Your Luck this St. Patrick’s Day!"
If you are attending a St. Patrick’s Day celebration and plan on using alcohol:
The annual Bluffton Ride to Remember treats participating cyclists to a cinch sack full of goodies donated by Bluffton area businesses. In 2021, the items had an estimated value of $350.
How is that possible? Donors provide a variety of promotional items ranging from lip balm to coupons to snacks.
At the March 11 Bluffton Area Chamber of Commerce meeting, steering committee member Jenny Pilarowski detailed how the items bring visiting ride participants back to Bluffton and Bluffton residents into businesses they haven’t visited before.
Earl D. Bixel, 75, passed away surrounded by family on March 11, 2022. A Bluffton native, Earl was born on February 4, 1947. Earl was preceded in death by his parents, Truman M. and Levada M. (Balmer) Bixel.
During Melissa Florer-Bixler’s Keeney Peace Lecture at Bluffton University, the pastor and author addressed what she described as some of the most pressing concerns for society today: third way politics, cancel culture and polarization.
As an enthusiastic if fairly timid cyclist, I was interested to find a list of bicycle safety safety tips in the Icon’s inbox from the Allen County Health Department. With my “step through” ladies’ frame and wicker basket, I probably resemble Miss Gulch from the Wizard of Oz, minus the bright-eyed terrier captive. In a town the size of Bluffton, a bike is a great transportation option. In the days of $4/gallon gas, it’s looking even better.
The Bluffton Area Chamber of Commerce will host a member breakfast on Friday, March 11. The meeting will be held on the third floor of the Town Hall, 154 N. Main.
Eikenbary Landscape is the breakfast sponsor; Greenhorn is the breakfast provider.
