The Ohio High School Athletic Association has information about the 2022 State Track and Field Tournament on June 3-4 including qualifiers, schedule, heat sheets, parking information and announcements for qualifiers and spectators HERE.

GENEVA, Ohio–Bluffton University's Desmond Gist (Detroit, Mich./Trenton) capped off his record-setting sophomore campaign with a 14th-place finish at the NCAA Division III Nationals on Friday, May 27, 2022. His 14.69 was just 11 hundredths of a second from moving him into the Saturday finals at the Spire Institute.

Returning to Bluffton after two COVID gap years, the Bluffton Arts & Craft Show has a new host and will take place just yards away from its traditional location in downtown Bluffton. The Bluffton Area Chamber of Commerce has handed the reins over to Blended Roots, a consignment craft shop at 246 Cherry St.

There will be 51 vendors with booths outdoors and products from 65 vendors indoors. Parts of Cherry, Railroad and Vance Streets will be closed beginning at 6 a.m. for setup. The show will run from 9:00 a.m.-3:00 p.m.

Courage is defined in Webster's Dictionary as mental or moral strength to venture, persevere, and withstand danger, fear, or difficulty. The most courageous person I ever knew was my friend, Dick Basinger. His father was my Vocational Agriculture teacher at Bluffton High School, Mr. Lorain Basinger. 

The Swiss Community Historical Society (SCHS) will hold an open house on Saturday June 4, from 1:00-5:00 p.m. at the Schumacher Homestead. There will be children’s games—for the young and the young-at-heart. Highlights will include stilts, game of graces and hoop rolling.

The Homestead is near Bluffton and Pandora at 8350 Bixel Road.

Visitors may tour the mid-nineteenth century farmhouse, summer kitchen, garden, workshop and barn.

Seventy-five Bluffton High School seniors were transformed into graduates at May 28 commencement ceremonies in the school gym. Family and friends attended the event which began with a slide and video show of graduates--as they appear today and their baby pictures.

A welcome address including Pirate jokes was provided by Luke Shadle.

Nancy C. Hochstettler was welcomed into heaven by her Lord and Savior on Friday, May 20, 2022. Nancy was born on March 30, 1941, in Battle Creek, Michigan to the late Carl Weers and Audrey (Sanders) Wendt. Nancy graduated from Grossmont High School in California and after returning to Michigan attended Delta College for a business degree.
