On occasion, we can't resist a good story swap with the Ada Icon. Here's a slice of local history recounted at an Ada Historical Society event. In turn we sent Ada readers our item on super-cyclist Mike Rhonemus.
The May student of the month at Bluffton High School is Ethan Bogart, son of Nathan Bogart of Pandora and Janelle Bogart of Bluffton. Ethan is a senior at Bluffton High school. He was a member of the football team, cross country team (freshman year) and is currently on the track team. He was a state finalist in the 4x400 relay in 2021 and is advancing to state in the 4x400 relay and 300 hurdles. He is also in a bowling league.
High School graduation weekend is here. The Bluffton High School class of 2022 is the 141st class to graduate from our school system. The first class, of 1881, had six graduates.
The Bluffton boys track and field team finished a strong second in the Div. III region 10 meet Wednesday and Friday at Port Clinton.
Several Pirates also qualified for the state meet June 3-4 in Jesse Owens Memorial Stadium at Ohio State University in Columbus. Top four regional finishers qualified for the state event.
BOYS RESULTS
Bluffton junior Landon Armstrong won the 800-meter run, while classmate Eden Antrim took first in the boys 1600 meters.
Hancock County’s Cory-Rawson High School took home both the ODOT choice award and people’s choice award in a clean sweep of the Ohio Department of Transportation (ODOT) District 1’s annual Paint the Plow contest. The plow’s artwork honors Bluffton Police Department Officer Dominic Francis.
Often a patient has been diagnosed with severe osteoarthritis of a large joint (hip, knee, shoulder) and among treatment options discussed, joint replacement surgery may be considered. Typically, a joint replacement is reserved for the treatment of severe osteoarthritis when non-surgical treatments are no longer working. A joint replacement is replacing the cartilage ends of two bones where they come together to make a joint with a metal and plastic prosthetic. Once a patient has met with their orthopedic provider and decided a joint replacement is the right treatment option for them, there is preparation that can be done.
Ohio farmers took advantage of planting opportunities in between rain events, according to Cheryl Turner, State Statistician, USDA NASS, Ohio Field Office.

Saturday, May 28 is the opening weekend for the monthly Bluffton Cars & Coffee gathering at Masterpiece Signs & Graphics, 902 N. Main St.
This is "an informal gathering for enthusiasts and their cars" that takes place from 8:00-11:00 a.m. on May 28, June 25, July 23, August 27, September 24 and October 22.
All makes of cars and bikes are welcome to this free event.
