Charlotte Kidd, a 12 year-old Girl Scout from Bluffton, recently earned the Journey Summit Award Pin as a Junior in Girls Scouts. The pin is one of the highest awards a Girl Scout Junior can earn. It is earned by girls who have completed three National Leadership Journeys.

Former players invited to compete, fans invited to help stock the Food Pantry
On Saturday, August 6, the Bluffton High School boys and girls soccer teams will host the Annual Alumni Games as a benefit for the Bluffton Food Pantry.
Coach Jamie Mehaffie explains, "The community is invited to come out and see these 2022 BHS Soccer teams for the first time and watch some of your favorite former student-athletes in action, and support the Bluffton Food Pantry."
Don Filhart, 77, of Cleveland, Oklahoma and Bluffton, Ohio passed away July 26, 2022 at Lima Memorial Health System. Don was born May 23, 1945 in Brandon Township, Michigan to the late Clifford and Wilma (Amstutz) Filhart. He married Leslie Amstutz and she survives.
Don was a self-employed farrier. He enjoyed riding cutting horses and quarter horses. Don enjoyed playing and collecting guitars and was a brown belt in karate. He was a veteran of the U.S. Marines serving during the Vietnam Conflict as a Marine scout sniper.

“I want to be the officer who takes care of the other officers,” commented Corporal Lonny Kent when asked why he chose this time to retire from the Bluffton Police Department.
