UPDATE: This is a private alley next to Roots by Strattons. We'll catch a picture of a public alley and Bluffton Beautification project next time!

Bluffton has been abuzz with hometown favorite Trevor Bassit winning a bronze medal in the men's 400m hurdles at the 2022 World Athletics Championships in Eugene, Oregon.

The Icon was thrilled to receive a call from Oregon and former Bluffton University cross country coach Karen Brandt with an offer of photos of Bassitt on the podium. She sent along the attached images of Bassitt with teammate Rai Benjamin, posing with their silver and bronze medals, as well as a podium view with gold medalist Alison Dos Santos of Brazil.

MT. CORY, Ohio⎯Richard J. Bucher, 86, passed away July 20, 2022 at his residence. Richard was born November 7, 1935 in Bluffton to the late Roy and Ruth (Blough) Bucher.  On April 22, 1955 he married Carol Frantz Bucher who survives.

Bluffton Cars & Coffee on July 23

The Blanchard Valley Health System Board of Trustees recently selected William Hopkins, MD, as its newest member to serve on its board, as well as on the BVHS Finance Committee.

Dr. Hopkins attended The Ohio State University as an undergraduate student majoring in microbiology. He went to medical school at the Medical College of Ohio in Toledo, Ohio and completed his residency at Riverside Methodist Hospital in Columbus, Ohio. Dr. Hopkins then joined the Blanchard Valley Health System medical staff in 1996 and has been practicing at Findlay Family Practice since that time.
