With temperatures racing towards 90 degrees before noon on June 15, the Bluffton Public Library is reminding the public that it's--literally (really literally)--a cool place to hang out.
The library has air conditioning, comfortable seating, free WiFi, public computers, board games and power strips for charging devices.
The National Weather Service has issued an Excessive Heat Warning for the area, which remains in effect until midnight.
After a two year wait, the Swiss Community Historical Society is inviting members to the annual Swiss Day at 12:30 p.m. on Sunday June 19 at the Ebenezer Mennonite Church.
Individuals can renew their membership or join the society at the meeting.
There will be a carry-in meal and annual business meeting. Attendees should bring their own meal service and food to share. (This is different from past years, when one cold and one hot dish was requested.)
The invitation reads: "Everyone is invited, young and old! Enjoy an old fashioned pot-luck style meal."
