With thunderstorms expected and the air thick with humidity, the Bluffton Sardines hosted the Kenton Stingrays in Western Ohio Aquatics League (WOAL) competition on Monday, June 13 at the Bluffton Community Pool, 205 Snider Rd.
Bluffton won the home meet 896-293 and is scheduled to host Van Wert at home on Thursday, June 16.

The Village of Bluffton held a regular Council meeting on June 13 with all members present. The meeting was conducted by Mayor Richard Johnson. The minutes of May 23 and bill payment were passed unanimously, as were all other actions.

Gawkers and window shoppers are welcome at the June 17 Festival of Wheels hosted by the Bluffton LIons Club. Registration is 2-5:00 p.m. The festival ends with a car cruise down S. Main at 8:00 p.m.
The Findlay Post of the Ohio State Highway Patrol is investigating an injury airplane crash that occurred on June 13, 2022 at approximately 5:15 p.m. The crash occurred in a field south of the Bluffton Airport.
Robert S. Searfoss, age 48, of New Bavaria Ohio, was flying a 1968Cessna 172 when he lost control of the air craft crashing into a field.The air craft struck nose first and flipped over. Mr. Searfoss suffered serious injuries and was flown to St. Vincent’s Medical Center in Toledo Ohio. Mr. Searfoss was using his safety belt.
UPDATE: With AEP Ohio crews working on multiple downed towers in the Bluffton area, service began to be restored to the area on the afternoon and evening of June 14.
Beginning 10:00 a.m. on June 14, a cooling station has been established at the EMS building behind the fire department on N. Main St. at Thurman.

Alice Katherine (Jenkins) Hilderbrand, age 76 of Bluffton, previously of Ada and Upper Sandusky passed from this life to her heavenly home on June 7, 2022 at the Willow Ridge nursing facility in Bluffton where she had lived for the past seven years.
Alice Kay or A-K as she was known was born Nov. 21, 1945 in Buckhannon, WV and was the only child of the late Rev. William H. and Mary (Roberts) Jenkins. With her father being a minister of the United Methodist Church the family lived in several places where he pastored.
