Reminder to register for the 2022 Bluffton Sardine Swim Team: https://www.teamunify.com/team/recbst/page/team-registration

Message from Coach Verb:

The first day of the 2022 summer swim season is less than a week away (Tuesday, March 31, 2022). A few notes before we get into the season.

Bluffton’s Mike Rhonemus was recently awarded the 2021 High Mileage Award for 21,005 outside miles ridden, an honor presented by the Northwest Ohio Toledo Area Bicyclists. His goal was to ride the number of miles around the equator and--with indoor miles added--he did.

Bluffton Elementary School students K-3 enjoyed a field day of traditional games like an egg and spoon race, as well as inflatables, corn hole, frisbee course, bowling, and pizza box relays--which featured a wind handicap. The Harmon Field concession stand was open for lunch.

Fifty-one years ago, Marvin Gaye released his album titled, What’s Going On that included the hit single by the same name. The album was released on May 21, 1971 and was hailed by Rolling Stone magazine as a thematic approach to social and political issues. The song was a response to violence and riots in the United States related to the war in Vietnam, as well as race relations.

This week Allen County Regional Transit Authority will be running one of the blue and green large vans on the Delphos/Bluffton routes instead of a big bus.

If you ride the routes, please look for a van.

Safer Ohio tip line reminder

In accordance with the orders issued by the President of the United States of America and in remembrance of the 19 children and 2 teachers who were killed in a school shooting in Uvalde, Texas, Governor DeWine has ordered that the flags of the United States and the State of Ohio be flown at half-staff upon all public buildings and grounds throughout the State of Ohio until sunset on May 28, 2022.

The Safer Ohio program provides ways to report suspicious activity, request roadside help and real-time traffic.
