Tonight is final jam session of 2014 at the library

Duane Hauenstein was a 1976 Bluffton High School graduate

Duane Dale Hauenstein, 57, died Nov. 23, 2014, at his residence.  He was born Oct. 23, 1957 in Bluffton to the late William and Betty (Ewing) Hauenstein who preceded him in death. On April 20, 2002, he married Melanie Stall Hauenstein and she survives.

Mr. Hauenstein was owner/operator of Hauenstein Trucking, Bluffton and was also a farmer. He was a 1976 graduate of Bluffton High School.

Bluffton men fall at North Central 77-61

NAPERVILLE, Ill. - Despite another big night from Thayne Recker (Arlington), the Bluffton University men’s basketball team fell to host North Central College on Saturday, Nov. 22, by a final of 77-61. Recker scored 24 points on 9-for-10 shooting while adding five boards to follow up his 25-point, 11-rebound performance in Friday’s loss. The Beavers fell to 1-2 while the Cardinals are now 2-0 early in the season.

The Saturday after Thanksgiving in Bluffton means more than just the OSU-Michigan football game.

Attentive Santa

Kelsey Mohr, 4, (left) and her sister Makenna, 7, give Santa an earful. The two girls are daughters Greg and Becky Mohr of Bluffton. Saturday was Santa's first visit to Bluffton this season. You'll see Mr. and Mrs. Claus in next Saturday's Blaze of Lights parade. They will meet youth in the Bluffton Senior Citizens Center following the parade. Santa returns to Bluffton on Saturday, Dec. 6 and 13.
