Mustard Seed Cafe now open four nights a week; has new menu

There are new hours and a new menu at Mustard Seed Café, 562 N. Main St., Bluffton. The cafe is now open four nights a week. 

The restaurant is now open:
• Monday 11 – 3
• (Closed Tuesday)
• Wednesday & Thursday 11 – 8
• Friday & Saturday 9 – 8
• Sunday 9 – 3

New additions to the lunch menu include Chicago Style Hot Dog, Baked Tortellini, Autumn BLE (bacon, lettuce & egg) and Cobb Salad on Wedge.

DEFIANCE, Ohio - The road to the Heartland Conference tournament championship will run through Defiance for the second consecutive season and that appears to be just fine with a Bluffton University volleyball team that ended the Jackets bid for a second straight 9-0 mark in the HCAC. Bluffton rallied for a 28-26 win in the lidlifter before routing the home team 25-15 and 25-19 for a three-set sweep of rival Defiance College.

Lots of arts and events on university November calendar

Here is the Bluffton University arts and events calendar for November. Events are free and open to the public unless noted otherwise.

Nov. 1  Fall Play: “The Skin of Our Teeth,” 7:30 p.m., Ramseyer Auditorium, College Hall. Tickets, $8 for adults and $6 for senior citizens (65 and over) and non-Bluffton students, are available online at http://tickets.bluffton.edu or at the box office at the Marbeck Center information desk.

Diamond Manufacturing honored by Department of Defense

The Ohio Committee of the Employer Support of the Guard and Reserve (ESGR), a Department of Defense office, announced that Kevin Hilty and Diamond Manufacturing, Bluffton, were recently honored.

Hilty, a Diamond employee, received the Patriot Award in recognition of support of its employee serving in the Marine Corps Reserve.

Northwest Physical Therapy raises $2,800 to benefit Parkinson's

Northwest Physical Therapy held its Fifth Annual Poker Run 5k October 25th at its Ottawa office, raising $2,800 to benefit the Parkinson Foundation of Northwest Ohio.  Runners and walkers enjoyed door prizes, refreshments and a Halloween costume contest after the race. 

Wanda Dean, owner of NWPT, said "We are so grateful for the support from our sponsors and the community to help raise this money for such a great cause."

Knock, knock...whoooooooo's there? Trick-or-treat night is Thursday

Whether you are a mad scientist (see the photo with this story), simply a scientist, just plain mad, or some other kind of Halloweener, Thursday night is trick-or-treat night in Bluffton. Hours are 6 to 7:30 p.m.

In addition to Bluffton residences, here are some doorbells you’ll want to ring:

Bluffton Icon will take your photo at the library - in cooperation with the Bluffton University Photojournalism 299 class members, the Icon will take photos of all Halloweeners for a Halloween photo exhibit posted on The Icon.
