"Making sense of vocation" focus of Nov. 25 forum

Shari Ayers, director of Bluffton University’s Center for Career and Vocation, will address “The WORK of Gratitude: Making Sense of Vocation in a Complex World” in a Bluffton forum at 11 a.m. Tuesday, Nov. 25, in Yoder Recital Hall. The program is free and open to the public.

Bluffton artist Bev Amstutz presents her 2014 Blaze of Lights holiday greeting card. The card is available at Greg's Pharmacy. This is the 14th annual Blaze card created by Amstutz. If we aren't mistaken, the brass player looks pretty familiar.

BHS fall athletes excel on and off the field - here's the scholar athletes

Bluffton High School athletes excelled on the playing field and in the classrooom this fall. Here is the list of Bluffton athletes who were named scholar athletes by the Northwest Conference.

The criteria for gaining scholar athlete recognition by the conference is as follows:

Gold Level: Varsity letter earned in the sport and a grading period GPA of 3.5 or above
Silver Level: Varsity letter earned in the sport and a grading period GPA of 3.00 to 3.49

40 years later Bluffton peanut brittle just as popular as ever

A 40-year Bluffton tradition continues this month at the Bluffton Senior Citizens Center.

That tradition is "making peanut brittle."

Ada woman killed, Ada man injured in SR 81 accident this morning

Carla M. Dysert, 56, of Ada, was killed in a two-vehicle accident this morning at 8:42 a.m. on State Route 81 in Allen County, according to a report from the Allen County Sheriff’s office.
James R. Britt, 30, of Ada, was injured in the crash.

According to the sheriff’s report, the crash occurred when Britt, heading eastbound on Ohio State Route 81, lost control of his 1994 Mazda and went over the center line and into the path of Dysert’s 2004 Buick SUV, which was headed west.

Following the crash Britt was transported to St. Rita’s Medical Center.

Funeral arrangements incomplete for Dorothy Skelly

Dorothy Skelly, 95 of Bluffton died November 16, 2014 at Mennonite Memorial Home, Bluffton.  Arrangements are pending at Chiles-Laman Funeral & Cremation Services, Bluffton.
