Women's soccer: Cincinnati Christian pitches 4-0 shutout of Beavers

The Bluffton University women's soccer team fell behind 3-0 in the first 45 minutes as Cincinnati Christian moved to 2-2 with a 4-0 victory on Tuesday, Sept. 4, 2012. The Beavers slipped to 1-1 following the loss.
Libby Mason took advantage of a Jackie Esterkamp corner kick midway through the first period and following a Felten Claire score, Esterkamp made it 3-0 with just over a minute left in the opening period. Valerie Maslyn found Esterkamp for the second time in the match in minute 87 to cap the 4-0 shutout of Bluffton.
The Beavers took one more shot than CCU (10-9) while forcing three more corner kicks (5-2). Both teams put seven shots on frame.
Senior Maddie Moore (Linn Grove, Ind./South Adams) fired three shots, two on target, while junior Aimee Whitmer (Grand Rapids/Otsego) and freshman Laura Fish (Findlay/Liberty-Benton) both finished with two shots on frame.
Bluffton returns to action on Saturday, Sept. 8 when the Beavers travel to Shawnee State. The contest is slated for 1 p.m.
