Donald Crawfis, former Rawson resident, dies in Florida
Donald L. Crawfis, 83, of Ocala, Florida, and formerly of Rawson, Ohio, died at 1:20 p.m. March 18, 2013, at Legacy Hospice House, Ocala, Florida. He was born Feb. 27, 1930, in Leipsic, Ohio, to the late Bracy and Zella (Clapp) Crawfis. He married Carol Lippert and she survives in Ocala.
Crawfis resided in “On Top of the World Communities” in Ocala, Florida, and was known as “Don’s Pressure Washing” by many satisfied customers. He graduated from Rawson High School and attended the Ohio State University. He retired from Marine Specialty in Camden, Arkansas, in 1993 as a machine supervisor.
Survivors also include a sister Diane Bogart of Fort Mill, S.C.; brother, Eldon (Carol) Crawfis of Ponte Vedra Beach, Fla., and Bloomfield Hills, Mich.; foster daughter, Suzy (Jesse) Roach of Nashville, Ark., and her children, Suzanne and Aaron Sillavan, nephews, cousins and many dear friends.
A private graveside service will take place at Harmon Cemetery near Gilboa, Ohio. Visitation will be held Friday from 5-7 p.m. at Chiles-Laman Funeral & Cremation Services, Bluffton. A Memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday April 4, 2013 at Ocala West Church of the Nazarene in Ocala.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Ocala West Church of the Nazarene.
