Esther Spar was a Beaverdam HS graduate
Esther M. Spar, 97 died July 16, 2021 at Otterbein-Cridersville Nursing Home. She was born November 12, 1923 in Beaverdam to the late Walter M. and Luella M. (Steiner) Hochstettler. On July 19, 1945, she married Donald D. Spar and he passed away September 3, 2019.
Esther was a graduate of Beaverdam High School and was a homemaker. She was a member of the First Evangelical and Reformed Church where she participated in the Builder's Class and sang in the choir.
Survivors are her daughter, Emily (John) Domurad of Boston, Massachusetts; a daughter-in-law Jody Spar of Tucson, Arizona; a granddaughter Carrie L. Klug of Columbus; two great-grandchildren Madison and Matt; several nieces and nephews, Jayne (Denny) Caskie of Bluffton, Karyl Jean (Dwain) Crawford of Bluffton, Chuck Sousley of Bluffton, Norman (Sandy) Hochstettler of Harrod, Gay (Jay) Larsen of Utah, Pamela (Reed) Balls of Utah, David (Patti) Hochstettler of Utah and Darrel (Debbie) Hochstettler of Arizona.
Esther was preceded in death by a son Richard Spar; three brothers Robert J. Hochstettler, Francis L. Hochstettler and Harold D. Hochstettler; an infant sister and a sister Treva M. Sousley.
Services will be held at 2:00 p.m., Wednesday, July 21, 2021 at Chiles-Laman Funeral & Cremation Services, Bluffton. Burial will be in Ada Woodlawn Cemetery. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service at the funeral home.
Memorial contributions may be made to the First Evangelical and Reformed Church in Lima, Ohio.
