Several new events take place in September at Bluffton Family Recreation, according to Daniel Tinch, BFR executive director.

Cardio and Core
BFR introduces a new exercise class for adults. Cardio and Core began on Monday of this week. Sophia Volpe, a personal trainer, teaches the course. The class meets Mondays from 5:30 to 6:30 p.m., and is free to BFR members or $20 for a four-week session for participants. The class focuses on heart rate, body tone and abdominal core.

And there's still time to register

Next week launches the first of four fall program sessions at Bluffton Family Recreation, according to Daniel Tinch, BFR executive director. Each session lasts four week.

The following youth program are part of the first session. Registration is still open for these programs. Contact BFR at 419-358-4150 or register on line at www.bfronline.com.

The cost for participating in Session 1 is $12 for members and $24 for program participants.

2,500-square-foot area dedicated to exercise and fitness activities

Mercy Health Fitness Studio opened today (Aug. 16) inside Bluffton Family Recreation, 215 Snider Road.

The 2,500-square-foot studio is in the upper level, the former mezzanine area, of BFR. Daniel Tinch, BFR executive director, said that’s Mercy Health’s gift of $10,000 enabled the fitness studio to be realized.

Bluffton Family Recreation, 215 Snider Road, Bluffton, announces the official opening of the Mercy Health Fitness Studio, according to Daniel Tinch, BFR executive director, and Dale Gisi, Mercy Health – St. Rita’s president.

The fitness studio is an area within BFR dedicated to exercise and wellness activities.

Mercy Health – St. Rita’s Medical Center helped fund the renovations of the 2,500-square-foot fitness studio, which will house exercise equipment and fitness classes. The studio enhances the offerings at BFR, which includes sports trainings and leagues.

Bluffton Family Recreation released a fall schedule filled with many new program choices for youth and adults, according to Daniel Tinch, BFR executive director.

Among new programs include a Nerf darts night, outdoor movie, two kids’ nights out and a December youth basketball tip-off festival.

In addition, four 4-week sessions of youth programs are offered from Aug. 27 to Dec. 21.
