Open gym at BFR: the cure for cabin fever

Do you have a case of cabin fever? Bluffton Family Recreation offers a suggestion to eliminate it: Open gym.

(BFR offers lots more options to fight cabin fever. Just call for details.)

Here’s BFR's open gym times:
• Mondays – Noon to 5:30 p.m.
• Tuesdays – 10 a.m. to 5:30 p.m.
• Wednesdays – 11 a.m. to 7 p.m.
• Thursdays –10 a.m. to 5 p.m.
• Fridays – Noon to 8 p.m.

Open basketball:
• Wednesdays: 8-9 p.m.

Shall we dance?

BFR's daddy-daughter dance tickets now on sale; next winter day camp is Jan. 21

Bluffton Family Recreation’s first-ever daddy and daughter takes place in early February and tickets are now on sale.

The dance starts at 7 p.m., Saturday, Feb. 9, at BFR. Ticket are $20 for members (2 tickets) and $40 for program participants (2 tickets). Additional tickets – if you have more than one daughter attending – are $5 each.

Next winter day camp Jan. 21
The next BFR “school day out camp” is approaching. It’s Monday, Jan. 21, on Martin Luther King Day. The next camp is Monday, Feb. 18, on Presidents’ Day.

How about a little youth flag football

Play begins Saturday at BFR.

Bluffton Family Recreation is signing up teams for youth arena flag football starting on Jan. 12, according to Daniel Tinch, BFR executive director.

Divisions are for 5- to 7-year-olds and 8- to 10-year-olds. Games begin at 8 a.m. on Saturdays, starting Jan. 12. Games continue to Feb. 9. The next series of games is from Feb. 16 to March 16.

Cost is $200 per team. Register online or contact BFR, 215 Snider Road, 419-358-4150.

BFR Winter Session 2 starts Monday

There's lots of opportunities for kids

Bluffton Family Recreation's youth programming for Winter Session 2 starts Monday, Jan. 7, according to Daniel Tinch, BFR director. The session runs to Friday, Feb. 1.

Here's BFR's holiday week hours

Bluffton Family Recreation announced its holiday hours today. BFR, 215 Snider Road, will be on Monday, Dec. 24, from 8 a.m. to noon. Closed Dec. 35.

BFR will be on Monday, Jan. 31, from 8 a.m. to noon. Closed Jan. 1
