Public Library in September - Busiest place on Main Street

September is packed with programs  and services at the Bluffton Public Library. Here's the schedule:

Registration for Fall Storytime opens on Sept. 1. Visit the library or call 419-358-5016 to register your 3-5 year old child. After registration, sessions begin on Mondays at 6:30 p.m. (starting Sept. 12) or Tuesdays at 10 a.m. (starting Sept. 13). For more information visit our website or email [email protected]. Final "art in the park" Aug. 30 at the library

Bluffton Public Library offers "Art in the Park" (ing lot) at 10 a.m., Tuesday, Aug. 30, according to Jessica Hermiller, library administrator.

All you need is to wear old clothing and join the other interested artists for some creative fun as the group experiments with art.

Welcome back, students! 
The library's “After-School Library Card Sign-Up Day” is on Monday, August 29 for all area schools, colleges, and universities (home-school, too!)

The Bluffton Public Library is ready for the eighth month of the year, even if we aren't. Several highlights take place and each is listed on the August library activity calendar.

Free showing of "The Secret Life of Pets" at Shannon Theatre for library's Summer Program Grand Finale

Come watch THE SECRET LIFE OF PETS free!  Sadly, Bluffton Public Library's Summer Program is nearly over, but everyone who completes the program is invited to the Summer Program Grand Finale on July 28th at 10 am at the Shannon Theater!  The last day to turn in entry forms or get your reading log checked is July 26th.

So, how can you receive a ticket?  Did you:

Cleaning off your bookshelves? Friends of the Library would appreciate your donations

"The Friends of the Library are planning the fall book sale and we need books!" Sallie Jones of the Friends told The Icon.

Q: What type of books?
A: Histories, mysteries, novels any or current books. 

She asks that persons do not donate text books or encyclopedias. Proceeds ffom the book sale provides programs and projects for the library. 

Last year the Friends' projects enable the library to purchase a new overhead projector system. 

Books for future book sales may be dropped off at the library, 154 S. Main St., Bluffton.
