May Day Court - Taylor Aurand of Traverse City, Mich., and Jayden Groppi of Parma, Ohio, are crowned May Day Queen and King by last year’s royalty, Laura Galley and Andrew Hunter.
Milena King served as crown bearer. She is the daughter of Kevin and Alison (Luginbuhl) King, granddaughter of Karen Luginbuhl and the late Gregg Luginbuhl ’71 and great-granddaughter of the late Darvin ’46 and Evelyn (Johnson ’45) Luginbuhl.
The Bluffton University baseball team wrapped up its 2019 season with a split at Transylvania University on Sunday, May 5. Transy took game one by a 10-4 count before the Beavers came back for 7-4 victory in game two. Bluffton finishes its season with an 18-21 mark overall and 7-11 in the Heartland Conference. The Pioneers punched their ticket to the HCAC Tournament with the split.
The Bluffton University track and field team took home some significant hardware when the All-Heartland Conference outdoor awards were handed out on Thursday, May 2.
The lone conference champion for the Beavers was senior Jennie Matteson (Guysville/Alexander) who defended her title at 10,000 meters on Friday night with a final time of 40:49.02 en route to First Team All-Heartland Conference.

Underwritten by the family of Dale and Carolyn Dickey, performances are May 3 and 4 at 7:30 p.m. in Founders Hall. Tickets are $15 for reserved seats and $5 for general admission bleacher seats.
The Bluffton University track and field teams culminated their efforts for the season with the Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference Championship meet on Friday and Saturday, April 26 and 27.
The Beaver men ended the outdoor season with a sixth place finish with 49 points, tying Transylvania. Rose-Hulman and Hanover took the top two spots in the HCAC in convincing fashion, as the Fightin' Engineers outdistanced the Panthers, 240-152.
Bluffton University’s Camerata Singers, University Chorale, Concert Band and Jazz Ensemble will perform a selection of lighter tunes during the Spring Fling concert at 2:30 p.m. on Sunday, April 28, in Yoder Recital Hall. The event is free and open to the public.
