University collaborates on IT, network and security infrastructure

A collaboration between Bluffton University, Eastern Mennonite University and Goshen College is strengthening the three Mennonite institutions' ties and improving their respective IT departments.  

State rep shares experiences in university forum

Bluffton University Presidential Leadership Forum

State representative Susan Manchester shared thoughts on relationships and values during the Bluffton University Presidential Leadership Forum on January 25 in Yoder Recital Hall.

“The investments people make in you and the investments you make in other people transcend a lifetime,” said Susan Manchester. The State Representative for Ohio’s 84th House District (Mercer County and portions of Auglaize, Darke and Shelby counties). During the presentation for students, faculty and staff, Manchester shared about her first day as a freshman state representative in 2019.

Invitation to join Masterworks chorus, Apr. 10 concert

Parts 2 and 3 of Handel's Messiah

The Bluffton University Department of Music has issued an invitation to choral singers to prepare for and perform in the Masterworks Concert to be given in Yoder Recital Hall on April 10.

The concert will feature parts 2 and 3 of Handel’s “Messiah.” There are a total of 11 rehearsals, one Saturday dress rehearsal and one concert. Masks are required during practices.

Rehearsals will be held from 7-8:30 p.m. on Tuesdays each week starting Feb. 1 in the Gilliom Room of Mosiman Hall on campus.

Presidential scholarship competition February 5

Bluffton University is inviting high-achieving high school students to campus on Saturday, Feb. 5, 2022, to compete for one of two full-tuition scholarships. The awards are valued at more than $138,800 through the four years of undergraduate education at Bluffton.

Participants receive a $1,000 annual scholarship just for participating in the Presidential Scholarship Competition.    

Eligibility requirements:

$2 million estate gift establishes scholarship fund for nurses

Bluffton University has received a $2 million estate gift from the trust of Hazel Robinson that will allow for a new scholarship fund benefitting nursing majors. The Lehman-Huber-Zerhrbach Scholarship is named in memory of the late Robinson’s maternal grandmother, Jane Huber Lehman, and her parents, Henry Zehrbach and Emma Lehman Zehrbach.

The scholarships will be awarded to nursing majors with preference given to female nursing students from India at the benefactor’s request. The first scholarships will be awarded in the fall of 2023.

Bluffton senior awarded full graduate scholarship

Madison Brunswick, a senior from St. Henry, Ohio, is Bluffton University’s 10th recipient of a full scholarship to Bowling Green State University’s Master of Accountancy program.

Brunswick earned the Beaver-Falcon MAcc Scholarship, a Bluffton-Bowling Green partnership that includes a full-tuition award plus a paid graduate assistantship for a Bluffton graduate.
