The next performance on the Town Hall Concert Series is "Lost Orchards," at 7 p.m., Saturday, Sept. 14, according to Wendy Chappell-Dick of the village cultural affairs committee.

The free performance is in the third floor of the Bluffton town hall.

Chappell-Dick describes the performers this way: "Ron Freeman started Lost Orchards before he ever knew he started the band. In 2000 he began making music with multi-instrumentalist Chris Vogt in Erie, Pa.

BFR Sports and Fitness invites Icon viewers to participate in its Saturday, Aug. 31, Labor Day Weekend 5K or Walk, which featuring a Pump and Run.

• The 5K run/walk (including pump and runners) starts 9:15 a.m.
• The fun run/walk starts at 10 a.m.
• Race day check for the 5K pump and run starts at 7:45 a.m.
• Race day check in for the 5K run and walk sis from 8:30 to 9 a.m.
• Race day check in for fun run starts at 8:30 a.m.

Two movies starting Friday August 30 and playing through Thursday, August 5 at the Shannon Theatre.

SMURFS 2 (PG) will be showing every evening at 7 p.m.

Saturday and Sunday matinees at 1:30 p.m. and 4 p.m.

ELYSIUM (R) will be showing every evening at 9:30 p.m.

Shirley's Gourmet Popcorn flavor of the month for September is Caramel Apple.

The Allen County Master Gardener Association will be hosting The Butterfly Migration Celebration on Sunday, September 8, 2013 beginning at 2 p.m. at The Children’s Garden in Lima.

This unique event features the release of dozens of monarch butterflies; butterfly-themed children’s activities; an educational butterfly presentation and much more.

Hardin County Fair week is just around the corner. This year’s fair opens on Tuesday, Sept. 3, and runs through Sunday, Sept. 8. Ada schools will be closed on Tuesday, Sept. 3, for "fair day."

Gates open daily at 7:30 a.m. and close at 10 p.m. Open class and junior fair exhibits must be in place by 9 p.m., Sept. 2. The fair officially opens at 7:30 a.m. on Sept. 3.
